SECURITY ENGINEER (SDC-21-1059-F): Bowhead seeks a qualified Mid-Level Security Engineer with a strong technical background to provide onsite support to a senior level Department of Defense (DoD) customer. The candidate should be experienced in planning, engineering, and deploying a suite of Defense Cyber Operations (DCO) tools. Responsibilities may include: • Maintain and sustain DCO tools to support the organization; identify gaps in current capabilities, and support budgeting and planning for acquisition and deployment of future security capabilities. • Collaborate and coordinate with critical infrastructure and network engineering teams to provide technical security requirements via the Change Control Board, and other networked-environment governance bodies. • Perform systems/networking troubleshooting, problem resolution, maintaining, upgrading and deploying DCO tools (IDS both Host-based and Network-based and the supporting components, User Activity Monitoring/User Behavioral Activity, ACAS, and SIEM). • Work with minimal direction, perform strong verbal and written communication skills, and work alongside senior level DoD officials. Requirements • BS in computer science, engineering, mathematics, business or related field of study from an accredited institution. Demonstrated work experience equivalent to the academic qualifications will be considered. • Five to eight (8+) years of relevant technical experience is required PLUS a DoD 8570 IAT II or higher certification. • Demonstrated experience deploying and configuring critical network infrastructure devices such as CISCO, VMWare, Windows Server 2016 or higher. • Demonstrated experience developing architecture drawings in MS Visio or other architecture tool. • Working knowledge of network (Layers 1-7). • Working knowledge of integrated infrastructure technologies e.g. CISCO, VMWare, Backup (Cohesity), Microsoft (Server, Workstation, SQL). • Working knowledge with nix (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), proxy (explicit and transparent), DNS, Splunk (SPL and Administration), MITRE ATT&CK framework, Cyber Kill Chain, and eMASS. • Knowledge and experience of applying DISA security requirements and STIGs. • Knowledge of NIST 800-53 and other accreditation documentation. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must hold and be able to maintain security clearance at the Top Secret level. Must be SCI eligible or able to obtain SCI. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
