A large California University system is expanding it's information security department. This Senior Network Security Engineer will be working hands-on to secure the entire university system and prevent future threats and mitigate any vulnerabilities. This hire will also be responsible for leading the overall security direction for the team and will be hands-on with the network security architecture. Additionally, this team member will be a paramount decision member in applying an expertise in a broad spectrum of information security-related technologies that include: identity access management, encryption, network architecture, cloud platforms and severs, threats and remediation, etc. Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years' experience in information security / cybersecurity
- Experience with network security architecture
- Advanced knowledge of security threats and vulnerabilities
- Prior experience implementing best practices with Palo Alto firewalls and/or Panorama
- Expert knowledge of networking protocols, security methodologies, access management, etc.
- Exposure to cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and service-oriented architectures
- College diploma or university degree in computer science, information security, or a related field
- Experience creating and supporting a Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISSP-ISSAP, or other related certifications that address security and risk management
- Prior experience in other cybersecurity fields (i.e. Application Security, Cloud Security, etc.)
- Competitive Salary: Up to $150K/year, DOE
