Loan Processor - Temp

This is a temp position for 2 - 4 months with possibility of extension

Job Summary:

To serve the needs of the members by accurate and timely processing of investors and portfolio loan applications (1st and 2nd mortgages).

Specific Job Duties:

Maintain working knowledge of all investors and portfolio home loan products offered by the organization.

Check and validate loan applications submitted by loan originators and send out the initial disclosures.

Verify all documentation received for completeness and accuracy and update Mortgage Loan Application processing screens.

Pull standard factual credit reports, open title and escrow accounts as required, and order appraisal reports.

Pre-qualify members, to ensure credit, housing and total debt ratios conforms with program guidelines.

Submit loan application to FHLMC loan prospector or FNMA automated underwriting to determine credit risks, purchase eligibility and documentation type.

Monitor Approval and Denial reports and assist in the monthly preparation of “Regulation C” and HMDA reports.

Assist in the delivery of approved loans to investors meeting deadlines.

Responsible in updating daily pipeline reports (active, approved, declined reports, etc.).

Assist in any other area as needed by management.

Complete required BSA & OFAC training annually.

Understand and adhere to BSA & OFAC policies and procedures, including reporting suspicious activity.

Job Knowledge/Experience/Education/Training:

High school degree required. Bachelor degree in related area with at least two years lending experience preferred.

2 years experience in real estate mortgage processing, with FNMA and FHLMC guidelines.

Working knowledge of California real estate law and general mortgage lending policies and procedures.

Working knowledge of real estate loan documents.

Excellent written and oral communication skills (including telephone).

Demonstrated expertise in use of PC, Microsoft Office Word and Excel, Windows and email.

Working knowledge of Encompass Loan Origination System helpful

Demonstrated excellence in mathematical and organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability and willingness to provide outstanding services to every member and every staff member.

Demonstrated excellence in telephone skills in customer service and problem resolution.

Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing in accordance with Provident’s standards of high member service, professionalism and courtesy.
