The Registered Dietitian is responsible for planning and conducting programs to educate patients about nutrition and administering medical nutrition therapy. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Conducts a nutrition assessment and obtains nutrition history from patient.

Consults with physician and other health care personnel to determine patient's nutritional needs and diet restrictions.

Plans therapeutic diets and implements preparation and service of meals for patients in hospital, clinic, or other healthcare facility.

Instructs patients about the meal plan and dietary changes, and establishes goals and objectives to help meet the plan.

Evaluates nutritional care and provides follow-up continuity of care.

Documents nutrition care plans. Inspects meals served for conformance to prescribed diets. Instructs patients and their families in nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, and preparation.

Educates staff on nutrition and diet therapy.

Qualifications Requirements a BA/BS; 3 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Registered dietitian required.

For CareMore business units, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.
