Duration: 6 mcth Position: Senior Appian Developer Location: Ashburn, VA or Washington DC Office (remote for now, but will be opening back up in September to telework. Will need to be onsite) Keys

  • 6-8 years of total development or software engineering experience (coming from a .NET or Java background, doesn t matter).
  • Min of 3 ears of Appian Development.
  • Working on a lot of integration projects.
  • Workflow development and integration.
    • Design, develop, test, debug, document and operationalize various applications leveraging industry best practices Work closely and collaborate with various cross-functional IT specialists in implementing solutions Work closely with team members and business stakeholders to gather and validate requirements, drive out technical issues and model solutions that meet the functional and technical requirements Provides work estimates for software development and configuration. Participate in Scrum Daily Stand-up, Sprint and iterative development activities, while preparing to take on any role within the agile team as needed. Participate in design activities and develop innovative solutions in meeting customer needs Translate technical concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences Collaborate with the Lead and team on application architecture design Follow established coding standards, perform code reviews, and improve standards to assure compliance Possess strong analytical skills required to troubleshoot issues, identify resolutions and be available for off business hours implementation and support Mentor/Coach Software Engineers and provide assistance where needed Qualifications Education/Technical Expertise
    • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related engineering fields, or equivalent experience
    • 8+ years of progressive experience in the IT industry
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in Microsoft Technologies
    • 3-5 years of Appian configuration and implementation Experience
    • Command of the core .NET application stack and other closely related .NET technologies
    • Strong exposure to relational database (SQL Server) design and SQL
    • 3+ years of progressive experience as a developer in an Agile environment Very good command of software design patterns, Scrum framework, and various other methodologies
    • Strong experience with developing and supporting various COTS, SaaS and custom developed software as well as delivery of these applications
    • Experience with cloud based technologies required.
    • Demonstrated experience with scripting languages Java and VBScripts.
    • 3+ years experience managing and tracking work using management tools like Jira and VersionOne to follow and promoting Agile practices like Scrum.
    • Strong experience with one or more of the following platforms Azure, WorkDay, Sharepoint, ServiceNow and Appian
    • Expertise in software design patterns
    • Knowledge of various build automation and Continuous Integration tools
    • Strong working knowledge of various data transformation/representation technologies such as XML, XSLT, JSON
    • Working knowledge of various common protocols such as HTTP, SSL, SOAP/Web services
    • Strong working knowledge of JQuery, AJAX and related client side technologies
    Good exposure to SSIS, SSRS and other ETL based technologies is a plus
