Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes is currently seeking an Experienced Electrical Systems Fleet Support Engineer (Level 3) to assist airline customers in the resolution of in-service technical problems and issues related to Electrical Systems; power generation, power distribution, battery technology, lighting systems, electromagnetic effects and electrical wiring interconnect systems. This position will be located in Seal Beach, California.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.Job priorities will include monitoring potential in-service risks and issues, and managing appropriate mitigation plans to assure a successful entry into service. Additional activities include verification of all related Customer Support products, including Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) and Fault Isolation Manual (FIM), as well as develop and update Fleet Team Digest (FTD) articles, Service Letters (SL) and Maintenance Tips (MT).As a Service Engineer, you will be working on resolving operator issue real-time, including general systems questions, short to medium term Electrical System problem resolution, long term issue description and proactive fleet guidance, to all the way through to working with operators to recover Airplane On Ground (AOG) situations. This can involve working over the phone to troubleshooting an airplane halfway around the world, to being on onsite at the operator to return a grounded airplane back to revenue service, all while utilizing the latest Boeing tools, technology, data analytics, and real time fleet monitoring dataThe position requires application of engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues reported by airline customers, as well as determining interim and final engineering solutions, and responding to airline questions and reported problems through internal and external communication. The applicant will be able to assess event reports for potential safety issues, troubleshoot airplane problems using airline provided information, on-line engineering data, partner and supplier data, maintenance publications, as well utilizing MyBoeingFleet. The applicant will also be able to develop and manage projects to resolve in-service issues, develop presentation materials and present information on in-service issues to various review boards, management meetings, and airline forums, as well as participating in support teams and Technical onsite Assistance at airline location.You will be an integral part of supporting all Boeing Commercial Airplane models in-service and development, including programs such as 747, 767, 777, 787, 737NG, 737MAX, 777X, and the next generation of commercial airplanes.Position Responsibilities:Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.

Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product life-cycle.

Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

A minimum of 5 years of Avionics and or Electrical Engineering experience.

The position requires flexibility to address emergent issues and important airline meetings off-hours and may require an occasional off-shift work schedule to support the fleet operating 24 hours/7 days a week/365 days of the year.

Must be able to travel to Airlines to lead technical/executive review meetings and address complex technical issues.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):A minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with 7-series aircraft is preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience interpreting wiring diagrams and troubleshooting airplane systems.

Project management experience.

A minimum of 1 year of experience of Electrical Wire Design, Wire Installation or Equipment installation is preferred.

A minimum of 1 year of experience in Design Engineering, Service Engineering, Field Service, Maintenance Engineering, or Customer Support is preferred.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Presentation experience.

Ability to collaborate with multiple team functions.

Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience.

Desire to continuously improve our airplanes.

Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
