Payroll Clerk

Description Description:Robert Half is working with a non-profit organization in San Rafael, California on a contract-to-hire Payroll Clerk. The ideal payroll clerk will have an understanding of QuickBooks and Excel. The tasks in this role will include a variety of duties, including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. Candidate should understand how to properly communicate effectively with both the internal team and outside customers. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for full cycle of payroll processing duties on biweekly schedule. This includes payroll prep (reminders to all as to timesheets due, requesting and tracking timesheet completion from all staff and supervisors, answering time keeping questions etc.), payroll processing and post payroll allocation

Create, implement and maintain a payroll processing manual that can be used as a reference tool for finance, accounting, payroll, and HR

Create training tools for supervisors and employees to create proficiencies on the use of the payroll system(s)

Process biweekly payroll in iSolve Payroll software system

Post payroll and vacation allocations to general ledger to be reviewed by Accounting Manager

Manage employer contributions to benefit plans; post the payroll entries to the accounting software

Prepare and post month end journal entries – depreciation and fixed assets

Prepare onboarding and off boarding through iSolved on the back-end, coordinating with the Director of Administrative Services

Act as a backup for the AP full processing

Copy and scan processed documents, as requested and required

File documents in a systematic manner, and preform digital filing as required.

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:2-3 years’ bookkeeping or accounting experience with a focus on payroll processing, AP/AR, accounting and bookkeeping

Solid competency in QuickBooks accounting software
