Job Description
We are currently seeking to fill the position of Sr Analyst at Quality Planning (QPC), a business unit withinISO. The ideal candidate is highly inquisitive, organized, motivated and detail oriented to join projects fueled by our data professionals.
The Sr Analyst position will be responsible for various analytical and project management related duties including leading pre-sales projects for our prospects(customer Proof of Concept tests). The position will regularly perform ad-hoc analyses to research internal/external inquiries,perform ad-hoc and recurring reporting todiscover patterns in data,and optimize ourvarious processesallusing SQL,Python,Dashboards,Excel and other tools.
Another significant work stream will be participating in product development/improvement process. Thinking strategically and out-of-the-box is the key to succeed intheseactivities.What's more is that we are continuously working on our internal organization and process improvements, thus seeking for an optimization adept who will contribute into our processes,policies,and standards.
Finally, Sr Analyst will provide a universal interface between data,product& projectmanagement,customers,development,and sales teams.
Responsibilities
Perform data extraction, cleaning, transformation and loading procedures using SQL(bcp/bulk insert, SSIS framework) and Python
Build& maintaintools in SQL (stored procedures/queries) and Python (functions/modules) tomanipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensional data from varying sources (files, databases, mainframe systems)
Lead pre-sales activities (including proof-of-concept projects) together with sales and product teams– this entails loading/mapping ad-hoc files into database, running production application, generatingresults reporting
Define data quality metrics and execute quality control procedures
Contribute into internal processes improvement and standardization
Support development of new products,services,and solutions
Conduct cross-domain and multi-product data analysis to support SWOT analysis, dependency and correlation analysis, product portfolio improvements
Design and compile actionable reports on company initiatives and performance for senior management for decision making such as revenue forecasting
Work closely with different teams (sales, product, engineering, R&D and etc) in San Francisco and Jersey City as part of product development and improvement processes(some travel may be required, a few times a year)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of applied experience ormaster’sdegree with 1-2 years of applied experience
Degree should be in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Applied Math, Economics or applicant must have equivalent past work experience
Thorough knowledge of P&C insurance industry, key principles, challenges and requirements in data analytics and business intelligence domainsas plus
Ability to develop actionable business insights and recommendations from data with excellent problem solving and analytical skills and ability to translate data into useful business-oriented formats
Proven experience in process optimization. Candidate should be able to assess current processesto identify gaps and/or issues and propose and drive process improvement initiatives(e.g. through LSSprocess improvements)
Strong technical background is a must. Candidate should be able to digest technical documentation quickly, communicate with technical teams (Developers/IT) and perform QA where required.
Prior experience working with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC-e.g. Agile/SAFe Agile),code managementtools (e.g. BitBucket/Git)andprocess improvement(e.g.LSS-Lean Six Sigma)is a plus
Strong knowledge of relational database systems, data structures, and data modeling concepts
At least 1-2 years experiencequerying/analyzing tables from largedatabases, particularly in SQL(SQLServer, PostgreSQL, Dremio SQL, etc)and Python(Jupyter Notebook/Anaconda)
Experience withJIRA, SharePoint,Salesforce, Tableau, Power BIa plus
ProficientwithMSOffice Suite:Word,PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and particularly Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to professionally interact and collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders including executives,technology teams, clients,and subject matter experts
Ability to efficiently run parallel projects with aggressive timelines, define priorities and multi-task
