Cloud Engineer Responsibilities-Translation of the cloud strategy and architecture into a highly available and secure technical implementation, in accordance with best practices.-Continuous monitoring and optimization of the cloud implementation for technical and cost-efficiencies.-Continuous support of, and collaboration with, other teams and projects, particularly DevOps, platform and automation teams.-Collaborating with developers and owning the “Ops” part of DevOps to ensure that cloud-native workloads are deployed according to IT best practices for security, governance, identity and access management, and monitoring.-Deploy AWS infrastructure as a code using scripting languages such as Python, Boto3, AWS CLI, YAML, Cloud Formation.Scripting: Familiar with Microsoft Windows PowerShell, Linux shell scripting, Python, Boto3, AWS CLI, YAML, Cloud Formation. Automation and orchestration: Solid knowledge of both automation and orchestration in order to leverage the full value of each in cloud services. These skills require scripting proficiency and an understanding of how to invoke cloud-based APIs, such as RESTful interfaces.Configuration management: Familiar with cloud providers’ deployment orchestration capabilities, like Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudFormation, AWS OpsWorks. Others include configuration management tools, like Ansible, Chef and Puppet.Cloud networking: Crucial to have a solid understanding of cloud networking capabilities, including load balancers, web application firewalls, network access control lists (NACLs), security groups and VPN connectivity.Cloud security: Knowledge and experience with security policies, firewalls, encryption, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems to adopt cloud security services much more effectively.Containers: Familiar with the operational requirements of orchestrating containers via Kubernetes, including the basic process of deploying and updating fleets of containerized services with Kubernetes.Serverless computing: Should be able to take advantage of serverless capabilities available on cloud platforms and leverage serverless computing for automating operational tasks that are stateless, concurrent and driven by self-service user behavior.Source code management: Familiar with the tools for version control systems such as Git.Governance: Must understand how to implement governance for role-based access control (RBAC), cost containment and cloud provider account management.Financial analysis: Familiar with cloud cost estimations for total cost of ownership (TCO) calculation. These include the cost of egress traffic, the cost of zone-to-zone connectivity and the cost of data replication
