Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide overall strategic and operational leadership of information management and technology for Medable’s global Human Resource (HR) and Finance team, including planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of all related initiatives.
  • Accountable for delivery of all projects and initiatives within the Business Technology scope (HR, Finance, and other business systems when required), including the management of resourcing, prioritization, budgets, and overall technical architecture
  • Collaborate across the two business groups (and their dependent groups, ie Legal, Privacy) to help drive organizational improvements and operational excellence
  • Align as a trusted advisor and strategic team member in order to understand business challenges and assist to strategically plan future business capabilities that require business technology assistance
  • Build a high-performance, technical team that can effectively execute and deliver business technology
  • Provide leadership and guidance for the direct functional area, while also contributing to the overall Medable leadership team
  • Optimize the overall ROI and user adoption in business technology, including resource planning, budget and cost analysis, partner and vendor negotiations
  • Build a clear technology roadmap for the respected business areas, including new capability authorization, service maturity milestones, inter-dependency mapping, value articulation, user adoption targets, and re-use goals
  • Create shared vision of technology solutions and facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between different solution platforms
  • Possess a broad knowledge of most technical and business resources and use them to effectively coordinate team members and external resources
  • Utilize the appropriate, best-in-class HR/Finance technologies and ensure that functional partners have the solutions suited to the requirements
  • Stay informed of business technology trends and demonstrate a track record of influencing others to successfully tackle challenging business problems by applying new ideas and lessons learned
  • Establish trusted and collaborative working relationships with external business partners, technology providers and vendors
  • Effectively manage budget and vendor relationships for all projects and implementations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in IT Operations and Business System Engineering or a combination of equivalent education and experience, with specialization in HR and Finance organizations
  • Extensive knowledge and experience implementing HRIS and Finance business systems, for example Workday, Oracle, SAP, Netsuite
  • Prior history of implementing payroll integrations with a third party processor, for example ADP
  • Experience with financial general ledger, fixed assets, accounts payable/receivable, suppliers, vendors, planning and budgeting processes, and related dependencies
  • User management, security, and audit controls for financial and HRIS
  • Understanding of the integrations and dependencies between HR and Finance systems across the entire organization, including integrations with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Support
  • Managing external vendor relationships, including being accountable for their overall performance and delivery
  • Experience in synthesizing business processes into well designed and implemented enterprise applications
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
  • Solid working knowledge of all Business Systems and Technologies and their development and configuration environments/requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team oriented
  • Experience with Workday, Oracle HR/Fusion, SAP
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Experience with Integration technologies such as ETL tools
  • Experience with relational and document database technologies and query languages
