Exciting position in a growing company and a developing rural tourist community. We are looking for an accomplished hands-on General Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit to oversee operations of our two award winning historic upscale boutique hotels and related businesses. Areas of responsibility include hotel operations, Food and Beverage operations house and apartment rentals and a small gaming operation. The ideal candidate will have previous upscale hotel experience and a track record of exceeding guest expectations, an eye for detail and a keen financial acumen. This position will manage and provide direction to the hotel managers of each location and will work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to maximize bookings, functions and rates. The areas of responsibility will include effective cost control, service standards, revenue management, community relations and team-building.

As General Manager you will:

Oversee all aspects of operations, including sales and marketing, human resources, budget and forecast management, rooms, housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, property rentals, and a small gaming operation.

Provide vision, leadership and direction to inspire your team to deliver exceptional service and financial success.

Build a rapport with Ownership and partner with local and state tourism agencies.

Bring your passion for service to build an effective team and inspire individuals to deliver your vision.

To succeed in this role you will need to read, write and verbally communicate effectively and professionally in English with associates, guests and ownership. You must be flexible and be able to deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of hospitality and professionalism. You will regularly use a computer and different software. This position will report directly to ownership.

Job Requirement

The General Manager need to meet the following requirements:

Have a proven track record in hotel management.

Exceptional judgment and decision making skills .

Exceptional guest services skills

5-10 years experience as a Hotel General Manager preferably in upscale/boutique hotels.

Demonstrated ability to lead effectively.

Oversee all aspects of property operations.

Provide daily direction and management to staff in meeting the goals of the Hotel.

Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the properties.

Experience with information technology systems including Property Management Systems.

Knowledge of yield management techniques

Experience implementing and managing budgets.

Identify strategies to increase profitability and guest satisfaction.

Willingness and ability to learn and to meet the changing requirements of the job

Must be a driven, creative, resourceful thinker who can adapt quickly to change.

Excellent computer skills

Ability to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English

Effective Bi-lingual skills are a plus

PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE HOTEL MANAGER:· Must be able to sit for long periods, bend, twist, squat and lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion· Must satisfactorily pass the pre-employment physical, drug and background screening process· Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.· Fine motor skills needed for frequent computer usage and handwritten tasks· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, meeting qualitative and /or quantitative productivity standards· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
