Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting the owner with the daily operations of the Golden North Inn to maintain standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, quality assurance and asset protection while managing costs within budget.

Key competencies include (but are not limited to):

Skill in ensuring an environment where staff and individual departments can support each other and achieve goals.

Planning for future requirements in operations.

Must be able to work varied shifts including nights and/or weekends.

Position Requirements & Responsibilities:

- 3 years hotel experience (preferred); 2-5 years prior experience as a hotel Assistant General Manager or General Manager (preferred).

- Previous supervisory experience required.

- AA Degree or higher degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or Business (preferred). Equivalent experience is acceptable.

- Must possess a valid driver's license.

- Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, shares information and ideas with others, and has good listening skills.

- Must be proficient in Windows Operating Systems.

- Ensure the safety of guests and team members and the security of the hotel and property.

- Observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions. Respond to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies and threats to life and/or property.

- Promote an atmosphere that ensures the importance of friendliness and cleanliness is understood and practiced by all employees.

- Recruit, select, train and manage employees to deliver guest services and quality products that will lead to achieving goals for revenue and profit.

- Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, generates new ideas, meets attendance/punctuality requirements.

- Uses good judgment, applies previous experience, prioritizes tasks, provides owner with feedback, and manages resources well.

NOTICE:

Standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to and including 20 lbs. may be required.

The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
