Principal/Sr. Principal

Cyber Systems Engineer on

Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. The qualified applicant will become part of the transforming Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) team. This position is for a cyber systems engineer who will provide technical solutions to difficult System Administration and hardware problems, to include assisting development of operational ground stations, on-site installations, system training support, and engineering records updates. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.   • Works in an agile based team consisting of systems administrators, systems engineers, hardware engineers, cyber engineers, and software engineers
  • Install, troubleshoot, update/patch, and maintain multiple Linux environments, lab assets, and IT infrastructure.
  • Sustain operational uptime on Red Hat Linux systems and provide daily support for hardware and software issues, data recovery, system upgrades, software upgrades, and configuration issues
  • Builds large, integrated hardware systems from bare metal including racking, cabling, powering, initializing systems
  • Supports the integration and test of hardware and software subsystems
  • Recommends and implements system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system; including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management
  • Mentors and trains junior systems administrators
  • Creates and maintains system documentation
  • Installs system wide software and allocates mass storage space
  • Performs backups and recovery as required
Qualifications:This requisition may be filled at either a System Administrator (Level 3) or a Principal System Administrator(Level 4). Basic Qualifications:
  • Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with 6 years of related experience in systems administration; 4 years with a Master's degree; 0 years with a PhD; 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, with 8 years of related experience in systems administration; 6 years with a Master's degree; 4 years with a PhD; 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experienced Linux System Administration for Red Hat
    • with Red Hat Certified System Administrator or no less than 3 years' experience
  • Experience with RSA multifactor authentication, Splunk, IPA, and Ansible
  • Good communication skills
  • Active TS clearance required to start
  • Must have Security+ with Continuing Education or equivalent certification under DoD 8570.01-M
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware within a virtualized environment
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Counter Intelligence polygraph
  • Experience with satellite ground station hardware system administration
  • Experience with NetApp storage solutions
  • Experience with networking; cisco equipment and SNMP
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance
