Safety Manager, Inventory Control & Accounting Support

Hilfiker Pipe Co., Inc dba Hilfiker Retaining Walls https://www.hilfiker.com is in need of a Safety Manager, Inventory Control & Accounting Support Specialist to work in our Accounting Department. This is a full-time, permanent position, M-F, 8am-5pm. Full benefits are offered 30-90 days after hire including health, dental, vision and life insurance, vacation and sick leave, and 401(k). Knowledge of Accounts Payable and basic accounting required. Experience with Inventory Control or Safety Management preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Must be proficient in all MS Office programs, especially Excel.

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

INVENTORY CONTROL, PIPE DEPT - 40% OF THE JOB

Enter shop timecards from our Pipe Dept. into ERP system in order to enter finished goods and backflush raw materials

Regularly take inventory counts and make adjustments as needed

Create part numbers as needed with an accurate Bill of Materials (BOM)

Track part costing

Work closely with all departments to ensure inventory is accurately issued, purchased, and receipted

Much of this job requires walking around our shops and yards, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 20 pounds.

SAFETY MANAGER - 30% OF THE JOB

Interact with shop laborers and office staff to actively promote safety

Organize, conduct, and track safety trainings

Manage purchase and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and first aid supplies

Maintain SDS Binders

Maintain compliance with OSHA and Humboldt County regulations and reporting

ACCOUNTING SUPPORT - 30% OF THE JOB

May include the following:

Accounts Payable

Credit Card Reconciliation

Processing Monthly Expense Reports

Process data quickly and accurately

Investigate discrepancies and make corrections

Problem solve and think creatively

Work independently and prioritize

Learn new software and processes quickly

Compensation starts at $20-22, based on knowledge and experience, with possible raise after probationary period
