Job Summary:

HDL Engineering Consultants, LLC (HDL) is a leader in providing civil, geotechnical, transportation, and arctic engineering, environmental and earth science, surveying, and construction management services throughout Alaska. We are looking for a motivated and detail oriented person to fill the Accounts Receivable Clerk position in our Anchorage office.

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for all aspects of invoicing, from creation of invoices and gathering of backup documentation to submission of approved invoices to clients, recording of payment, and collections. This position has room for lateral growth as knowledge, confidence, detail orientation, and confidentiality is validated.

Required Job Qualification:

High School Diploma or equivalent, higher education is desired

Minimum of two years of office accounting experience, emphasis in Accounts Receivable experience preferred

Strong working knowledge in accounting software programs

Ability to perform duties with great attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Excel formulas, Word, Adobe PDF

Ability to work as a team player as well as independently

Professional oral and written communication skills

Desired Job Qualifications:

Associates degree in accounting

Familiar with ADOT & PF invoicing procedures and indirect cost rate

Working knowledge of general office equipment and procedures including Outlook email, scanning, fax, and copy machines

Electronic file management skills

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for preparing invoices with completeness and accuracy

Daily interaction with project managers accounting staff and other employee and clients

Create invoices and preparing PDF invoice packages

Create and update monthly invoice summary reports for managers

Prepare a forecasted AR Aging report for weekly Cash Flow meeting

Maintains record of outstanding payment status and coordinates collection calls

Receive and record checks and EFT on a daily basis

Use problem-solving skills to perform daily functions

Work Environment

This position involves office work. When working in an office setting this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. This position may also be required to periodically climb, kneel or crouch, and reach with hands and arms.
