The Creative Center for Young Children, a fine arts focused Preschool & Child Care Program in Downtown Des Moines, is seeking an energetic and career minded teacher associate to join our program. We are seeking a caring professional who would like to work in a fun, small group setting with our 2 - 5 year old children and with other caring professionals.

Hours of this position is 2:00pm - 6:00pm, Monday thru Friday each week with potential additional hours to substitute for other staff members. Work hours can be flexible to meet your schedule. High School and College Students encouraged to apply.

Minimum requirements:

16 years old.

Must be able to pass State of Iowa Criminal History Background Check and FBI Background Check.

Preferred: Experience caring for children in a group setting.

Preferred: Course work in Education, Child Development, Early Childhood, related field or college student.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Assisting lead teacher with classroom duties and tasks, including light cleaning & sanitizing.

Engaging and interacting with children through direct care and supervision.

Assisting and supervising during outdoor field trips.

Initiating and carrying out transition activities with children.

Preparation and serving snacks and lunch to your assigned classroom.

Assisting and encouraging life skills with the children that lead to increased independence.

Promoting a positive atmosphere in the classroom with children.

Attend paid staff meetings and ongoing paid trainings.

Starting hourly rate will be between $13-$14.50/hour.
