Front Desk Agent – Evening Shift

At Borealis Basecamp, we are dedicated to providing the best customer service in Alaska to our guests. We are an experiential destination just outside of Fairbanks, where guests from all over the world gather to watch the northern lights and experience Alaska’s beauty. We seek dedicated, friendly, energetic people who enjoy interacting with people from all over to join our team.

Front Desk Evening Duties: Greeting guests, checking them in and providing the guest on available activities at time of check in, and walking them to their rooms, answering the phone, scheduling tours, preparing guests for activities, providing information about the area, maintaining a disinfected and clean lodge, cleaning the bathrooms as needed, assisting with breakfast service and cleaning up after breakfast service, communicating any maintenance issues to maintenance department, communicating with activities department to provide guests accurate information on available activities, providing 5 star guest service by communicating well with guests, being friendly, and fulfilling guest needs. Cleaning dishes after dinner service, hosting 30 minute long evening programming talks on the northern lights and night sky, alerting guests when the aurora is present via Bluetooth doorbell, ensuring all guests are awake to see the northern lights. Preparing check in documents and invoices for next days’ check ins. Any and all duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Experience with customer service, professional demeanor, computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel, time management skills, organizational skills, and resourceful. High school diploma or GED preferred, as well as proficiency with a foreign language. Ability to lift, rotate and place 50lbs. Ability to negotiate uneven terrain in low light. For all positions at Borealis Basecamp, each and every team member must be willing to help team members out of their regular department, and must be able to hold a conversation with a stranger for several minutes. Ability to speak in public crucial to excel, photography skills with DSLRs highly preferred. Ability to work independently and strong work ethic necessary.

Starting Pay: $17/ hr

ATTN: STAFF HOUSING AVAILABLE

We have an on-site staff housing unit with available beds for full time staff members. For room & board this is $650 a month, with all 3 meals included and no need to own transportation. Each room is double occupancy, no single rooms.
