Potential for Remote Work: NoDescription SAIC has an opportunity for an IT Event Support Technician. This position is located in Pearl City, Hawaii. The Software, Simulation, System Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate, DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center (AvMC) is supporting the USINDOPACOM and the K. Mark Takai Pacific Warfighting Center on Oahu, Hawaii. This includes Modeling and Simulation (M&S) to support end to end life cycle development and execution, ensuring warfighter readiness and future capabilities are realized. The IT Event Support Technician to work within our team, helping to provide customer IT support in the operation and maintenance of the virtual and physical infrastructure in deployed and on-premises computing environments. He/she must be equipped and able to work in a dynamic and rapidly expanding environment. The person is responsible for providing operational support across a wide-range of virtualized Microsoft Windows, client systems, and Audio-Visual (AV) services. Provide support for a client base of Windows 10 and Office 2016/2019/Office 365 products across physical laptops/desktops and thin/zero clients. This person will serve as part of a talented team of system administrators and engineers who collectively demonstrate excellent technical competency, reliability in delivering mission critical infrastructure, and who continually ensure the highest levels of accessibility, optimization, and security. Qualified System Administrator applicants will have a background in IT or computer systems engineering and possess a customer-oriented focus.Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of a • AAS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field (preferred) with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • BS Degree is preferred
Required Certification:
  • Meet DoDM 8570.2 IAT II requirements (CompTIA Security+/CASP or equivalent)
Required Skills:
  • Proven working experience in the above fields including installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows and Linux based environments.
  • Basic networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, Exchange Server 2016 through 2019, and SharePoint 2016/2019.
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking, Office applications, and Windows clients.
  • Knowledge in managing basic SharePoint permissions and site content. Create, disable and monitor user accounts and group permissions within Active Directory.
  • Basic understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and the use of PKI to secure network communications and systems.
Operational functions include: (80%)
  • Troubleshoot basic user errors in Windows 10 and Office products. Support users across multiple unclassified and classified environments, often in a high operating tempo.
  • Operate and support Audio-Visual (AV) and Video teleconference (VTC) components to support conferences or exercises within the facility.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on room layouts in accordance with floor plans.
  • Monitor system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications. Report outages in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Coordinate and perform basic functionality tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems or applications.
  • Monitor and test basic system user functionality and performance; prepare and deliver system performance status to senior system engineers for resolution.
  • Comply with local security and operating procedures.
Information / Knowledge Management (20%)
  • Collaborate with internal and external agencies in fulfilling IT support and collaboration needs for conference and activities.
  • Support the customization of SharePoint sites in multiple unclassified and classified environments. Create content and manage SharePoint lists.
  • Provide end-user support for collaboration applications, to include MS Teams, DISA Global Video Services (GVS), and Defense Collaboration Services (DCS).
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
  • Must have an active Secret clearance to start
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance
