A fast-growing startup that specializes in subscription-based video/music is looking for a senior software engineer to join their team. The startup primarily uses Java/Scala/MySQL / Node/MongoDB. They are looking to bring on a lead of a newly created Customer Development team. This engineering role would work tightly with the marketing team on customer and business development, building frameworks for AB testing, coding up initiatives, and setting up a robust analytics framework. This job is ideal for an engineer with a Java/Scala background (or just a strong coder who would like to move in that direction) as well as interest in analytics/data looking to join a fast-growing startup. The startup identifies themselves as the Netflix for stock media; they are heavily invested and were featured in TechCrunch as well as Washington Business Journal.
Required Skills & Experience- Java experience
- Spring, Scala, Node, MongoDB experience a plus
- Good communication
- Computer Science, Math, and marketing background a plus
- Big interest in data/analytics
- Prior experience with Big Data tools - Spark, Hive, Hadoop
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
