Leads and provides direction and guidance for a wide array of activities associated with project planning and management to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to client specifications.Manages and oversees the end to end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue / risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other project documentation preparation for projects of medium to high business complexity (involving multiple systems interfaces that are highly visible to the organization). Defines and manages the lifecycle from project initiation through closure. Manages and resolves risks, issues and dependencies.Develops detailed project plans and schedules application/infrastructure projects, including goals, risks and resource allocation. Monitors project results for significant deviations.Measures and monitors project actuals, forecasts and budgets and updates plans with accurate, up-to-date information in a timely manner. Follows financial standards & processes (e.g. monthly external revenue accruals, software capitalization, procurement & external payments). Reports financial information and status to the required executive level through steering committees.Manages vendor and client relations to ensure that service expectations are developed and met. Maintains regular contact with clients and coordinates and reports on project progress and accomplishments.May provide input for (project) team member performance appraisals. Works with all required Information Technology functions and groups to effectively plan and execute the project. May coordinate resources across organizational boundaries.Serves as a liaison between clients and internal technical groups to ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to specification. Manages communication with the business at a detailed functional level and discusses/resolves issues. Manages client expectations and ensures project delivery in conformance with company software development life cycle methodologies.Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.Bachelor's degree, preferably in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master certification is beneficial, 8 - 10 years of related project management experience, including Agile, required; experience with technology or financial services industry is a plus.Responsibilities Responsible for the overall delivery and management of the Asset Management Technology Distribution and Marketing (AMT D&M) project portfolio Assess new project requests: get the right resources to scope, size and cost a new request, and work with resource managers and their direct managers to determine when appropriate resources would be available, and assess impact to other projects in the AMT D&M portfolio. Work with resource managers to ensure resources are being managed/deployed efficiently between all active projects The Senior Project Manager leads and manages one or more projects that make up substantial components of the larger ERI program. Demonstrate leadership as a manager within the program Accountable to Program Manager and Workstream lead for delivery of high quality project results within the context of the larger program Responsible for the successful delivery of project Works with the stream lead to understand and deliver scope and expected business value Define and then drive a vision and approach for your project Frequently involves delivery of critical data and reporting that often meet sensitive regulatory requirements Demonstrate ability to work within program structure to support larger program goals Collaborate with other projects within the program and identify dependencies; actively manage in partnership with your colleagues Make all efforts to assist program leadership in achieving ERI program goals Responsible for managing highly visible large, complex strategic projects or programs crossing multiple disciplines, businesses, and/or organizations. Manage multiple releases and/or streams Projects may involve multiple users or customers/including senior executive customers Manage cross functional teams representing up to a dozen areas across BNYMellon; effectively employ a variety of skillsets to effect project results Manage project sponsor s leadership, communication, expectations Manages project budgets ranging from $1-10M; utilize all required project controls and tools (e.g. PPM) Deliver project results that may include inputs from up to 80 source systems and up to 11 lines of business. Leadership presence and ability to influence project stakeholders, including senior audiences Responsible for project planning and execution Take projects from original concept through final implementation. Assemble a matrixed project team. Identify and secure resources needed from other areas. Assign responsibilities based upon the project plan. Ensure the execution of all necessary tasks Responsible for development, maintenance, and communication of high quality comprehensive project plans, other project documents as necessary and consistent with company and program standards Champion current project management standard processes and ensure effective use while also ensuring compliance within the project(s) and program. Work effectively with Program Manager, ERI PMO, Audit, and others to ensure timely and accurate adherence to company standards and also ensure quslity of project execution Manage others including responsible for directly managing team members within the ERI business team as well as indirectly managing other dedicated project resources Directly manage and develop junior project managers assigned within your project(s) or workstream Directly manage and develop business analysts assigned within your project(s) or workstream Manage an effective team to deliver results within your assigned project(s) or workstream Responsible for proactive communication and influence across the organization Manage client expectations, implementing change initiatives and communicating effectively with senior management and executives. Manage stakeholder communications including frequent engagement with senior stakeholders within Risk, Client Technology Services, and frequently across Lines of Business or other areas of BNY Mellon. Must be adept at building consensus across organizational and functional lines. Responsible to develop strong partnerships with technology coumterpart(s) for project delivery Demonstrate the ability to indirectly influence others across the organization Responsible for proactively identifying escalating and resolving risks and issues of the project , including proactive mitigation and other steps to resolve these or reduce impact Ability to identify issues and risks proactively, predominantly in time to affect outcomes Ability to escalate when appropriate, presenting options and trade-offs Make effective decisions that are in the interest of program goals Ensure effective project testing and operational readiness Directly responsible for operational readiness, model office, and/or implementation plans are established and executed; deliver sustainable result and process based on assigned project(s) Partner with technology partners (functional design analysts) and other project resources to ensure effective functional requirements, design, construction, and SIT testing. Ensure readiness of end users to accept project results and document appropriate sign-off. Bachelors degree.Advanced Degree in Business, MIS, Technology related and/or PMP preferred. 10 years of experience. 15 years preferred.
