As a CAEEngineer, you'll be part of our Global Tools & Storage,team located inTowson, MD. Specifically, you'll:
- UseCAEsimulation technologiesto support the development of Power Tools and Outdoor products
- Translate product design requirements into simulation project specifications and use appropriate simulation technique to ensure quality and performance
- Conduct structural analysis using FEA tools in areas ofnon-linearstatic,transientdynamic,noise andvibration, material damage, fatiguelifeprediction,fluid structure interaction,design optimization, co-simulation and multi-physicssimulation
- Verifysimulationresults with theoretical method and test data
- Analyzesimulation results to reach sound design/business decisions in complex technical situations
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to achieve optimal product development solutions
- Studythe fundamental physics behind the products using CAEand other analytical tools
- Developadvancedmethod/process to enhance simulation capability and efficiency
- Deliver multiple projectswith anincreasing degree of technical complexity
- Workin afast-pacedteam environment and communicate efficiently withcross functional teams
- MS degree or higher in Mechanical Engineeringor related field
- Minimum8years'experience in modeling of mechanical systems usingCAEtoolsor programming languages
- Experience in advanced transient dynamic simulation, advanced material modeling for metal, plastics, rubber, concrete, wood etc., material damage and removal modeling,fatigue life prediction,and noise and vibrationprediction
- Experience in modelingmulti-physicsscenario, fluid structure interaction,co-simulation,andstructurewearphenomena a plus
- Good knowledge in FEA theory, materialfailurecriteria and effects of strain rate, solid mechanics, and fracture mechanics.Understandingof manufacturing process such as plastic injection molding and metal die casting.Knowledge ofproductdesignoptimization
- Programming and scripting skills for Windows and/or Linux platform in using languages such as python, MATLAB,Tcl, Bashetc. a plus
- Ability to investigate state of art simulation technologies and apply them to solve challenging practical problems
- Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to generate and evaluate creative ideas
- Able to handle multiple projects, strong interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
