This role will lead Network Engineering functions and collaborate with internal teams to develop, implement, and support the end-to-end deployment of a 5G SA network. This leader will oversee network and security management, emergency response, design and deployment of existing and new transport technologies and processes that optimize cost savings and/or productivity improvements. The successful candidate will administer and develop data network usage policies and proactive management of security and network systems that protect corporate data.Job DescriptionCore Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering, design, acquisition, deployment, and integration of Comcast's 5G SA transport networks and data centers.
  • Leveraging Comcast's extensive network, transport, and data center assets, develop connectivity solutions for the implementation of a 5G SA overlay network including cell site backhaul, local aggregation hubs, distributed regional and national data centers for both user and control plane traffic.
  • Working with the Architecture and Design team, ensure each National Data Center, Local Data Center, Head End and/ or transport aggregation point is dimensioned and engineered to meet forecasted capacity requirements. This includes equipment port assignments, IP core equipment selection, power, space, cooling, and any other associated tasks or activates required to place the 5G SA, IP core and transport equipment into production.
  • Direct the deployment of all hardware and software components into each National Data Center, Local Data Center, Head End, or transport aggregation point in accordance with Comcast policies and procedures.
  • Working with Comcast OSS and BSS teams, ensure connectivity exists with the 5G SA core and other ancillary equipment / functionality.
  • Working closely with Architecture and Design teams to define and document standards for the Comcast 5G SA Wireless network.
  • Work closely with the Program Management team, hold the transport and data center engineering team accountable for their deliverables and ensure that projects are delivered according to agreed upon timelines.
  • Perform hands-on technical work on escalated Network Engineering matters when needed.
  • Working with the Network Operations team, relay major hardware and/or software issues or defective product issues to partners, vendors, and Comcast department leaders.
  • Manage teams supporting and/or implementing multi-functional and/or multi-locational projects and/or systems.
  • Recruit and train teams, develop personal growth opportunities, provide leadership for employee relations, and effectively communicate job expectations.
  • Oversees the initial development and architecture of designs for future products and applications that best support the Company's technology and engineering roadmap.
  • Drives design and development strategies across platforms, teams and third parties. Evaluates solutions presented to the company by various partners and vendors. Oversees case studies, testing and reporting.
  • Develops and manages department and project budgets.
  • Provides leadership and direction to staff by setting goals, objectives, performance criteria and departmental standards.
  • Forecasts project estimates, resource needs, timelines and oversees schedules of product releases and project time tables.
  • Schedules and moderates periodic meetings with staff to review recent developments and plan/prioritize future activities.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
