SUMMARY The R&D Verification Engineer II joins the DBU to conduct software testing of ANSYS applications such as ANSYS's 3D CAD Design and simulation products including Discovery, SpaceClaim, Workbench, etc. This role assesses how well the product meets customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensures that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied. The role works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical specialists on product issues. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Specify and write test cases, creates, modify and update existing tests, write and maintain test scripts
  • Perform functional, application, regression and performance testing in manual and/or automated test environments and investigate possible causes of problems
  • Create test plans, participate in defect management and testing metrics
  • Apply standard techniques and procedures and comply with the company's overall development and testing processes
  • Work in a variety of computing environments: Windows, VMS, Cloud, Compute Clusters
  • Investigate defects and its subsequent effects on the product
  • Coordinate with other teams to address cross team dependencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field with 2 years of experience, or MS with no experience
  • Experience with CAD design products such as Ansys SpaceClaim, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Creo Parametric, CATIA, CADNexus CAPRI, or UGNX
  • Experience with CAE tools in industrial or academic projects, and familiarity with the associated engineering principles
  • A thorough and careful approach to work with close attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with peers locally and in remote locations
  • Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
  • This position does not qualify for immigration sponsorship
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical knowledge and experience with Python, C3, C, Microsoft Visual Studio, agile environments is a plus
  • Experience in a large-scale commercial software testing and verification environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
