Location: US, NationwideStanley Black & Decker is seeking a Quality Manager to support the Quality improvement initiatives within the Outdoor Products focused on Customer Quality Satisfaction. The successful candidate will lead all post-manufacturing quality activities across our global Outdoor business-including DEWALT, Stanley FATMAX, and Black + Decker ranges.They will be expected to lead and develop quality and warranty strategy-rolling out the agreed strategy to both our internal customers and partners and our external supply base.You will have the ability to spearhead global programs, interacting and engaging with a wide variety of cultures and business units. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, having the ability to work as part of a close team, alongside colleagues in the UK, USA, Czech Republic, Mexico, Belgium, China and other global manufacturing sitesUse of the product and understanding its operation is critical to the role. The candidate will be able to demonstrate a confidence to use SBD powered products and an understanding of their operation.Responsibilities:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with the global market focusing on Outdoor specific quality challenges and resolving significant quality issues
  • Work with the Global Quality Team to define the strategic direction, targets and goals for the quality portfolio over the next 5 years
  • Carry out data analytics to determine key warranty drivers and agree improvement activities
  • Lead weekly global and regional quality pulse calls
  • Drive an 8D mindset into the design and manufacturing base and performing A3 corrective actions and best practice across the Stanley Black & Decker Quality network
  • Own the 'live time' quality corrective action database and all information present that is pertinent to the quality portfolio
  • Weekly reporting of key problems in the portfolio to stakeholders and senior management
  • Lead 'risk assessment' and 'risk mitigation' activities for the portfolio alongside our teams in Towson and Connecticut
  • Coordinate and developing an Outdoor portfolio specific warranty reporting mechanism, collaborating and supporting global teams
  • Attendance on regular global quality, engineering and manufacturing zoom conference calls for product issues, reporting the regional portion of issues, opportunities and the appropriate DPMO data
  • Preparation of annual budgets for the portfolio and monthly analysis of financial reports pertinent to the quality portfolio across the region-driving any subsequent activity with local markets to address trends or opportunities to explore further
  • Work closely with stakeholders on early warning activity for the portfolio to identify infant failures at major product launches
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Quality, Reliability, Manufacturing or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical & Materials Engineering), or equivalent experience.
Key Attributes:
  • 5+ years of professional work experience with direct proven experience in the following areas:
  • Experience working closely with or leading multi-disciplined teams across a broad spectrum of challenges would be beneficial
  • Experience working with Outdoor products would be advantageous
  • Experience in Project Leadership, Engineering or Quality Engineering
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to lead corrective actions, working with multiple design teams and manufacturing locations
  • Have strong communication skills and able to convey information both verbally and via email to a global audience
