DevOps Engineer Senior Advisor - FHPS BST Technical Services - PS53067 Preferred Location: Indianapolis, IN. Will consider Richmond, VA; Norfolk, VA; Atlanta, GA.

At this time, Anthem will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. Responsible for supporting the test environments used to support Regional, Enterprise and/or other special project releases. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates the upgrade of environments for large scale efforts and serves as group contact for major projects and initiatives.
  • Leads environmental build efforts for large-scale Enterprise project/release efforts.
  • May perform code migrations and prepare, merge, and version code for production builds.
  • Leads team meeting (in absence of manager).
  • Participates on ad-hoc committees to support Enterprise efforts.
  • Analyzes scope of work requests, develops work plans, leads ad-hoc assignments and internal initiatives, and provides leadership and mentoring to all team members.
  • Responsible for applying release, implementation and change management methodologies/procedures to ensure the goals and objections of each release are adequately staffed for successful implementation and accepted on time through following established release planning processes.
  • Provides analysis and insight to release management team planning, leads the release planning meetings for multiple platforms and project releases and prepares and publishes release notes and communicates success or failure of the release to management.
  • Leads lessons learned meetings to improve the release planning process and facilitate process improvement and establishes/defines standards and procedures for release statistics reporting and documentation.
  • Provides direction for developing project release plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources for large scale program releases which include maintenance releases and special dedicated project releases.
  • Meets with other IT and Business programs to align release schedules and timeline to minimize outages and/or production risks to ensure successful implementation of all release components to meet the company commitments.
  • Works with senior release manager to ensure alignment of component release into overarching portfolio releases
Requirements:
  • Requires BA/BS; 8+ years of IT experience, including application development experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Multiple trade certifications and multi-platform experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years project management in a leadership role preferred.
  • Innovative and strategic thinking, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple releases in a time sensitive environment.
  • Experience in testing, SDLC, operations within IT and Business preferred.
  • Source Code Repository & Build Automation tool experience.
  • Atlassian suite - JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo skills and experience.
  • Must have experience with GIT, Sourcetree experience is a plus.
  • Setting up .NET or Java projects in BitBucket/Bamboo.
  • Experience in change management process (ITIL type change management process and toolset)
  • Familiar with Agile Development Methodology and Principles a plus, with preference to the Scrum Methodology.
  • Familiar with SAFE, Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) would be a plus.
