Our client, a global content delivery network and cloud service company, is actively looking for a Platform Operations Technician to join their team in Cambridge! This role is onsite so local candidates are required. This is a 6 month initial contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion. The hours for this role are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:30AM-8:30PM EST. This Platform Operations Technician will be on the company's Global Network Operations Command Center team, which is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the company's deployed network in a 24/7 environment. Their proactive stance enables the company to deliver content and applications to their customers, regardless of network traffic. This person will be responsible for developing and executing systems and processes to monitor and maintain the company's network. This role will offer the opportunity to continually learn and develop troubleshooting and deployment skills on some of the most complex network technologies in the world! Responsibilities

  • Proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving of server and network problems
  • Working in collaborative, internal, and external cross-functional teams to achieve timely resolution of platform affecting issues
  • Ensuring platform issues are clearly tracked, updated, and documented
  • Administering automated software deployments to the distributed platform to maintain and ensure stability and security
  • Diagnosing troubles identified by the network, monitoring and working to resolve issues
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or have 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience administering, monitoring, and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment
  • Demonstrated experience of Linux/Unix system administration and good knowledge of SQL and scripting languages
  • Be experienced in network technologies and internet protocol such as TCP/IP, WAN, and DNS
  • Strong communication skills
The Offer
  • Competitive Pay: Up to $30.92/hour, DOE
  • Contract Duration: 6 month initial contract
