As the Manager, Software Development, you will lead three of our retail application delivery teams as they focus on the companies most important objectives. These teams are focused on Retail Pricing, Point of Sale and Mobile Merchandise Management. In this role, your primary areas of focus will be managing priorities to ensure timely delivery, research requests from the business to estimate cost of delivery, and to work with stakeholders to develop product strategy and plan roadmaps. It is also essential you are able to keep teams informed of company objectives and progress, enable teams to improve their talents and deliver value for continued growth. If you have strong team development experience, we want to hear from you! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides guidance to engineering teams, including architects, product owners and delivery leads to deliver on organizational goals and strategies in an efficient manner.
  • Collaborates with internal teams (senior leadership, development, communications, finance, marketing, legal, etc.) to help develop engineering strategy.
  • Employee development including ongoing coaching, mentoring and leading semi-annual performance reviews for software engineers, architects, product owners and delivery leads.
  • Assist with prioritizing projects deemed critical across the entire organization by helping manage top priorities across teams competing for resources.
  • Creates and maintains strategy roadmaps. Plan and drives work for engineering team according to business needs.
  • Liaison between IT and the business units. Communicates project updates and any changes to the key stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality and on-time delivery of software solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong leadership development responsibilities not limited to assigning and reviewing work and providing assistance to support assigned teams
  • Must have ability to perform logical or scientific thinking to solve problems medium to high complexity.
  • Strong understanding of event-oriented software architectures
  • High School or equivalent experience plus two-three years of experience in software development
