Infrastructure Engineer

Type of Requisition: RegularClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Top SecretJob Family: Software DevelopmentGDIT is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to help support an exciting new Cloud Service Offering contract, Defense Enterprise Office Solutions (DEOS). Although this position allows for some remote work, the employee will be required to report onsite several days a week in Fort Meade, MD.NOTE: This position is contingent upon contract funding and tasking.The Infrastructure Engineer will:Serves as technology expert and provides guidance to junior team members.

Oversees the design, documentation, implementation and management of IT services for a hybrid cloud capability.

Manage Enterprise IT Systems to enable highly available and secure services between on-premise datacenter capabilities and cloud services.

Provides guidance on installation, configuration and maintenance of virtual hosts, operating systems, applications and databases.

Maintains ownership of high availability, high security IT operations.

Develops and presents IT infrastructure standard operating procedures to senior management.

Reviews and approves periodic status updates on scheduled maintenance and upgrade of all infrastructure systems.

Troubleshoots hardware, network, storage, virtualization, software and application issues to identify bottleneck in operations and provides recommendations to ensure optimum performance and continuity of critical systems.

Recognized for in-depth knowledge of a specific product or families of enterprise applications, such as Enterprise IT management products, and associated applications interface technologies.

Utilizes technical area expertise to assess the operational and/or technical baseline of an organization as specifically associated with its functional components.

Works with information technology professionals to provide insight and advice to senior managers and executives, concerning the strategic direction and applicability of enterprise-based products.

Takes a lead role in contributing to the development of standards and best practices surrounding the use of enterprise products and applications.

Provides technical insight into the determination of technical inadequacies and/or deficiencies that affect the functional area’s ability to support/meet organizational goals.

Generates technical strategies for enhanced operations, as well as ways to improve productivity across functional areas within the organization.

Also responsible for developing and educating others with regard to product-specific best practices.

Participate in technical assessments and reviews to validate the technical approach and associated work products.

Provides guidance and direction to other professionals, acts in a consulting and/or advisory capacity; coordinates resolution of highly complex problems and tasks, possesses ability to meet and operate under deadlines.

Required Qualifications:Active DoD Top Secret clearance

IAT Level II Certification

Master's Degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent field

8 years experience

Expertise and experience implementing Microsoft 365 hybrid architectures, ideally for DoD customers, including the following:

Azure Active Directory

ADFS

Hybrid Exchange

Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings

Windows Server

Azure Networking

DoD CC SRG and STIGs
