The Dealer Marketing Technical Architect is an architectural servant leader, acting with humility as they enable teams to migrate and deliver consistent, well-architected workloads in the cloud. This person serves as a facilitator, influencer and subject matter expert on cloud migration architecture practices - raising the bar for how we deliver cloud-native applications and migrate our existing workloads to the AWS cloud. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a cloud technology thought leader.
  • Partner engineering teams as well as engineering and architecture leaders to drive alignment on the right balance between consistency and flexibility in our cloud adoption approach.
  • Contribute to a catalog of technologies, patterns and processes to help teams chart their cloud adoption journey while achieving both functional and non-functional requirements. Identify and prioritize engineering enablement opportunities to help accelerate this journey.
  • Support engineering teams to develop target-state architectures and execute on product roadmaps that include cloud-related technology.
  • Develop and advocate for technology guidelines that enable teams to deliver solutions meeting industry, vendor and/or enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Build software prototypes as necessary to validate architecture approaches and assess emerging technologies.
  • Support teams in their transition to a true DevSecOps capability set
QualificationsLeadership Qualifications
  • At ease advocating for technical solutions and enjoy the challenge of influencing others
  • Ability to write high quality blog posts and technical documentation
  • Ability to serve as a technology mentor, facilitating the growth of Cox Automotive colleagues
  • Ability to manage conflict and maintain productive working relationships
Technical Qualifications
  • Status as Certified AWS Solutions Architect (or demonstrable equivalency)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or relevant industry experience
  • Ability to code in any language using any technology stack through self-teaching
  • Experience with various database technologies including SQL and NoSQL
  • Familiarity with designs for distributed systems including synchronous and asynchronous approaches
  • Experience with design and implementation of DevSecOps capabilities in AWS
Past Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in software development for mid-size to large corporations
  • 5+ years of working experience as a solution or technical architect
  • 3+ years of experience with architecting and engineering AWS cloud-based solutions
  • 2+ years of experience migrating on-premise workload to AWS
