You will be responsible for contemporary workplace design, estimating, industrial design, site development and construction of all industrial and commercial construction activity across the company. Stanley Black and Decker currently has approximately 800 locations globally, of which roughly 150 are industrial manufacturing sites, 400 are offices and the remaining are warehouses and services centers. There is a pipeline of supply chain and Future of Work initiatives that yield +$2-300MM of annual construction activity across the portfolio for the foreseeable future.This is a new role within the Global Workplace, Real Estate and FM organization and Reports to the VP Global Workplace, Real Estate and FM. The objective of this role is to build and lead a small team of global design and construction project managers to ensure all projects are being delivered using best practice project delivery methods within the defined scope, budget, and schedule. The outcome of the role is to continuously enhance the REFM project management plan while leading teams to deliver world class results. This role is instrumental to develop and build know how and expertise in the Global Workplace and FM organization and provide technical support in budgeting, project design and execution. The role will also work on the strategic collaboration opportunity creating partnership/s with internal partners and external firms to implement the creative and inspiring workplace environment concept efficiently and effectively. You will work in a complex and challenging environment therefore a high degree of interpersonal, cross cultural, influential and conflict management skills are required.You'll get to:

  • Lead the design and construction project management practice for Global Workplace and FM and provides the processes, structures, and tools for individual projects and multi-stake holder programs globally across the regions.
  • Provide a project governance structure. The role ensures accountability and enables the predictability of the outcomes of each construction project initiative.
  • Define the design and construction project management process, standards, deliverables, and operational cadence necessary to ensure consistent project execution.
  • Assess actual performance against the project plan and adjust consistent with plan objectives.
  • Prioritize programs and projects based on changing business needs, resource capacity, risk exposure and interdependencies.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are informed with accurate information and are informed of progress and risks.
  • Work with the regional real estate teams to ensure the estimating and planning parts of the pre-project approval process are streamlined and efficient.
  • Develop and oversee a team of retained/outsourced program and project managers; assign work and provide direction regarding timeliness and completion of project objectives; address performance issues within prescribed guidelines; provide performance input upon completion of project.
  • Ensure all stake holders are aligned with all project estimates, facilitate triple check process, and approve prior to project financial approve.
  • Ensure complete Integrated Permit assessments are completed for each project prior to financial approval.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to develop and maintain master project schedules; ensures master schedule adherence to mitigate risk and enable effective project delivery.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through total team engagement with continuous research of leading-edge technology, tool sets and project delivery methodologies.

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA or Master's degree ideal
  • 10+ yrs. of exceptional project management skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities.

  • Demonstrated Microsoft Office proficiency - specifically in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
