Location: Oklahoma City, OK Description: Our client is currently seeking a Structural & Payload Design Engineer 4 Struct & Payload Design Engr 4Desired Start Date: 6/18/21Duration: 12 monthsWork Location: Oklahoma City OKWork Hours: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PMCandidate must be able to be onsite at the onset of the assignment for a day or two at a minimum. Secret clearance is required, but not required to start. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required.Job Description:We are seeking a Structural and Payload Design Engineer (Level 4) for the Legacy Tankers Air Vehicle team located in Oklahoma City, OK. The team is responsible for developing and performing design engineering for sustainment, modification and improvements of military and commercial derivative aircraft.A successful candidate for this position will possess Adaptability, Collaboration, Communication, Customer Focus, Innovation, Project Management, and Engineering Judgment.Primary Responsibilities:Your duties as a Structural and Payload Design Engineer will include (but are not limited to):Perform structural design technical lead tasks for Structures Capability TeamResponsible for developing detail and modification design concepts/final design and meeting contractual/producibility requirements for end item deliverables; This includes structural modifications, mechanical components and primary and secondary structural detail/installation design for Development and Production purposesResponsible for the integration of detail design of parts/hardware installation and support to planning/manufacturing efforts and associated toolsAnalyzes and resolves design problems, able to develop and assist others with resolving design discrepancies and analyze the applicability of new and emerging technologies and advanced techniquesSupport internal/external design reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Preliminary/Critical Design Reviews (PDR/CDR) with US and Foreign Air Force customersProvide design expertise and technical knowledge to resolve customer inquiries for post-production fleet sustainmentResponsible for Material Review Board (MRB) actions, providing engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests)Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of structural commoditiesDevelops complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgetsPerforms technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selectionSupports new business and proposal activitiesWorks under minimal directionSecurity Clearance and Export Control Requirements:This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONSBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Works under minimal directionBachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryMinimum of 3-years' experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverablesPreferred Qualifications:Works under minimal directionExperience leading teams or projectsExperience creating structural/mechanical designsExperience with Earned Value Management (Scheduling, Budgeting, Cost Analysis)Active Secret DoD Security ClearanceTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
