Location: Cambridge, MA Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Platform Operations Technician Role: Sr. Platform Operations Technician Location: Cambridge MA 02142 on site Duration: 1+ Year Contract with possible extension Level II (3-5 years) Shif Timings: Hours for this role are Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8:30am-8:30pm ET- these are 12 hour shifts. Senior Platform Operations Technician for Global Network Operations Command Center Our Network Operations Command Center (NOCC) monitors, troubleshoots and maintains the deployed network in a 24/7 environment. Our proactive stance enables our client to deliver content and applications, regardless of network traffic. We have the best view of the world's largest distributed platform and are the eyes and hands that keep it running. Partner with the best As the Senior Platform Operations Technician, you will develop and execute systems and processes to monitor and maintain the organization's network. Working as part of a collaborative global team you will gain exposure to unique, large-scale networks. You'll continually learn and develop your troubleshooting and deployment skills on some of the most complex network technologies in the world. As a Senior Platform Operations Technician, you will be responsible for: Proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of the 24/7 platform, network traffic, threats and alerts Working in collaborative, internal and external cross functional teams to achieve timely resolution of platform affecting issues Administering automated software deployments to the distributed platform to maintain and ensure stability and security Ensuring platform issues are clearly tracked, updated and documented Participating in a day, evening or overnight network operations center shift schedule and following operations center workflow procedures Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: Have 2 years relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant related technical field Display solid experience of administering, monitoring and resolving issues in a high availability platform environment Demonstrate experience of Linux/Unix system administration and good knowledge of SQL and Scripting languages Be experienced in network technologies and internet protocols such as TCP/IP, WAN and DNS Be a strong team player, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in an ever-changing environment Have excellent communication and written skills to articulate technical information to internal teams and external customers Monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving server and network problems. Working with various internal/external stakeholders to narrow down problems and achieve resolution. Clearly and effectively documenting information in the Trouble Ticket system for communication to other staff. Ensuring SLA's are achieved and Platform Operations work quality expectations are met. Ensuring the accuracy of the Platform Operations procedures and documents. Escalating properly during the incident - acting as phone SME.
