Partner with the bestAs an Analytics Engineer located at the Energy Innovation Center in Oklahoma City, you will work with the Enterprise Technology team to solve customer challenges in the energy industry. You will

develop edge and cloud deployable analytics that improve the capabilities, efficiency, and performance of sensors and industrial control systems.

As an Analytics Engineer contribute on projects related to analytic development and deployment. Key focus areas will include algorithm development, programming, device communications, and data analytics. The EIC is Baker Hughes' research division developing the next generation digital industrial technologies for product offerings in the energy industry. This position will be part of a cross disciplinary team working on research and customer-facing development projects, typically integrating cloud and edge-based computation with complex control systems deployed in challenging operating environments.

In the role of Analytics Engineer, you will: • Design advanced algorithms and analytics in a team of subject matter experts• Develop code to execute algorithms in various hardware and software architectures• Create and manage software stack for edge computing systems• Implement or develop code and components to connect edge and cloud systems• Contribute to projects working with diverse technical and commercial teams• Serve as key contributor to multiple projects • Develop software that interacts with data acquisition systems and intelligent control systems• Develop analytical methods for processing data sets in real-time• Review, evaluate and analyze software architecture• Prepare and evaluate documentation, specifications, and requirements for lab and field testing• Design and implement communication protocol adapters and drivers• Work with customers, engineers and other data scientists to develop and validate hybrid physics/data-driven analytics within well-defined projects to address customer needs and opportunities• Document all developed code, software architecture, and network systems• Report progress and results out to leadership

Work Experience

Fuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:• Have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or other STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited college or university

Desired Characteristics • Knowledge and experience with latest data science techniques• Industrial / research work experience of 3 years or more developing analytics and implementing data science techniques• Experience performing engineering analysis and developing advanced data-driven analytics• Proficiency using advanced analytics and data science methods (machine learning, advanced statistics, optimization, estimation, etc.)• Fluent in multiple programing languages with an emphasis in Python• Experience in Energy or Oil & Gas Industry applications• Experience in computer firmware/software development and implementation through full scale commercialization of a product• Experience developing software for cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, GCPetc.• Experience with IoT devices, protocols, and methods• Knowledge of SCADA systems and their communication protocols• Familiar with common communication protocols (modbus rtu/tcp, mqtt, opc-ua, etc.) • Proficient written, verbal communication and presentation skills• Demonstrated project management skills• Detail oriented and demonstrated ability to develop technical requirements based upon proactive analysis of customer needs• Demonstrated ability to work in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments• Effective teaming and problem-solving abilities with strong interpersonal skills• Proven ability to think customer-first and effectively prioritize and pivot as required
