This role will be responsible for driving the design and development of new and innovative product lines within our Lasers, Measurement & Layout, Powered Systems, Storage, and Industrial Accessory categories.In this position, the Director of Engineering-Electronic Systems will lead a global team of engineers in product development, project management and cost down initiatives, while meeting our manufacturing, safety, quality, regulatory code compliance and marketing objectives. This team will have a special focus on defining and implementing electrical system platforms and component strategy to support the business. Must be capable of driving innovation and new product development, estimating development costs and monitor assigned projects through all phases of development.

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required
  • At least 12 years of experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment with exposure/experience in the design of high-volume consumerelectronic product manufacturing, preferably precision instruments
  • Possess well-developed interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software, including MS Project and Excel.
  • Understanding of embedded system designs including hardware, firmware, software, power management, etc.
  • Think creatively to develop ideas that can be protected by patents.
  • Ability to lead team - direct report as well as Metrics
  • Working with Operation & manufacturing & supply partners to execute projects
  • Ability to conceive, design and troubleshoot embedded systems
  • Perform/specify the required testing for design and performance verification.
  • Ability to work on and coordinate multiple, global projects.
  • Ability to work in a global, multi-functional team environment.
