SAFETY COORDINATOR

DIRECT HIRE

LOCATION: DUBUQUE, IA

SALARY: $68,000-$75,000/YR

SUMMARY:

The Safety Coordinator will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization. This position will be responsible for all safety functions in totality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.

Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.

Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.

Provides technical and administrative support to the executive safety committee.

Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.

Conducts and track employee safety related training.

Review’s safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates through building compliance and safety audits.

Review’s accident and incident reports and provide root cause analysis.

Oversee transportation safety related issues to ensure company is following Department of Transportation regulations, Federal Motor Carrier Guidelines and Department of Motor Vehicles.

Oversee all building security related activities, including surveillance, and alarm systems.

Resident expert on safety standards and mechanical application.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

1-2 years of safety, compliance, and training related work preferred.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Understanding of ANSI, OSHA, and DOT Regulations.
