A local solid and long standing greater Dubuque area manufacturer is looking for their next leader in a Production Manager. You’ll perform a range of tasks that includes ensuring a safe work environment, coaching and training supervisors and staff, and developing and executing strategies to ensure production requirements are met while minimizing costs, and monitoring quality. As a Production Manager you’ll report directly to the General Manager. This is a full scope, hands on, and high impact opportunity.

Actively drive a safety culture while meeting policy and work-rule objectives.
Develop and monitor standards for quality and operational procedures.
Maintain overall production goals and help develop strategies to improve output.
Develops and implements consistent department procedures. Evaluates process methods for improvement. Communicates methods, policies, and procedures to managers and supervisors. Anticipates, investigates, and evaluates future process needs
Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process, being directly involved with improving operation efficiencies, reducing costs, identifying unfavorable trends, and taking timely corrective actions
Work with other managers and supervisors in scheduling, work assignments, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving problems
Provide manufacturing information through production performance records and data
Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements resulting in the implementation of changes
Resolve personnel problems as necessary in conjunction with the Human Resources department
Keep a positive and energetic attitude when representing the company to employees, customers, and visitors
Evaluates the current workflow and creates improvements based on current needs.
Participates in identifying continuous improvement goals in Quality, Safety, Cost Control, Scheduling, Personnel, and Compliance for the organization and plays a key leadership role in attaining those goals.
Manage emergency situations including weather related, fire, evacuations and industrial accidents
What we need from you:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management or related field (required)
5-10 years proven professional work experience in a leadership role.
Knowledge and implementation of Lean Manufacturing Principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to connect and communicate with a variety of skill sets and personality.
