Automation Engineer

Insight Global is seeking an experience Automation Engineer to join the Central Engineering team for a large manufacturing client based out of the upstate of SC. This individual will be joining a team of 15 other engineers made up of Mechanical, Automation, and Project Management backgrounds. This team specializes in specific projects around a particular process within the plants in the region that the team oversees. This person will typically juggle 3-5 projects at a time with all projects being in different stages of the project lifecyclye that the client follows. For example, they could be asked to do design for a machine (ex. panel design, components that go into it, creating protection systems that need to be in place to protect operators from potential hazards), or in a stage where design is set and quotations are needed for designs/pieces of equipment so they would work with vendors to determine what functionalities are needed, or final stage of project where you bring in equipment, going through series of checkboxes and begin to produce output to deliver on requirements). That being said, the client tries to pair projects assigned to the Automation Engineers that are geographically similar, or similar in the phase of said projects. There is travel required to the different plants ranging from Canada down to Brazil, but only about 30% of the year. There is a decent portion of the work that will only be able to be worked on during holiday times, although not all of them. >Project Management experience>3+ years of Automation Engineer experience >PLC programming experience>Experience with requirements of guarding machines (fences, laser scanners, interlock switches, etc.)
