Indy - Field Engineer

An employer is seeking a Field Engineer for a permanent position with an Industrial Solutions company located in the Indianapolis, IN area. This Field Engineer will have responsibilities to the below: - hands-on execution of projects including Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment in respective area; Power Delivery includes transformers, switchgear, OCBs, Circuit Breakers, busways, UPS, ATS, PLCs, Relays, Power Management Controls systems and other Power related equipment & controls- Lead outages with other field engineers, technicians, and contractors including project management, lead site engineer or site project manager. Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet, and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis- Plan, organize, and perform multifunctional field assignments in designated areas of expertise, directing the work of other field engineers and craft labor as required, in a timely and efficient manner- Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability 4 year engineering degree in a relevant field Previous field experience Some experience with testing and maintaining electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, ATS (automatic transfer switch), high voltage switches etc.Understanding of/training in NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 70E guidelines and AF (Arch Flash) /Electrical safety to work safely around voltages up to 5kV 2 year electrical/mechanical/engineering technology degree or relevant military experience Relevant experience with electrical systems, design and/or maintenance General understanding and experience with relays, transformers, breakers, and switchgears Low to medium voltage experience/familiarity (480v-15KV) Experience with energy/utilities or facility/manufacturing industries Willing to travel 70% of the time(2 hour radius of Indianapolis)
