As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will be a contributing member of a next-generation new product development team, responsible for the design, analysis, test and integration of hardware for embedded communication and control modules. This position requires the proven ability to work with system, hardware and firmware design personnel to create project specifications and then execute through the entire development cycle. Demonstrated experience as a member of a project team for hardware development, including thorough attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. Functional Safety design experience. Energy metering and/or motor control experience. Solid-state and/or electromechanical power switching experience Quick-learning self-starter who works well with a dynamic team. Experience with writing and executing hardware and system test specifications. Mentor Graphics/Expedition schematic entry experience. Familiarity with packaging designs for electrical & electronic devices, including design for mechanical robustness, EMC, and thermal considerations. Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products (including Logix controllers and software tools) and/or other industrial control equipment. Excellent communication and presentation skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently and with people at all levels.Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline. At least 5 years of experience in embedded hardware design. Ability to travel up to 10%. Legal authorization to work in the US. At least three years of experience with microprocessor or microcontroller-based embedded system design, digital circuit design, analog circuit design, Ethernet hardware design, offline switching power supply design and test, and/or electromagnetic compatibility design & test. Experience with typical embedded control peripherals (RAM, Flash, FPGA, SPI, I2C,UART, PWM, A/D, Ethernet/MII, CAN), typical design and test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, digital signal analyzers), and writing and executing hardware test specifications. Demonstrated skills in the hardware development process, including circuit simulation & design, component derating, hardware debug & checkout. Proven ability to analyze and solve complex problems which involve both hardware and firmware.
