What You’ll Do

75% – Day to Day Functions
  • Coach and mentor software team members
  • Ensure the continuing quality of a growing code base
  • Work with business units to discover new opportunities for NorthPoint to be more efficient and effective using software.
  • Lead architecture decisions for new products
  • Provide general technical leadership to other business units and employees
  • Represent and act as an ambassador for the software team to other business units, and company leadership
  • Monitor team progress toward goals and project deadlines
  • Conduct code reviews, ensuring code quality and maintainability
  • Meet with stakeholders to discuss and scope new projects and features
  • Assist development team in creating new frontend & backend software.

25% – Everything Else
  • Meet with stakeholders to discuss and scope new projects and features
  • Test, document and review new and existing systems.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies and best practice
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to members of the development team
  • Assist in frontend and backend development tasks as needed

Who You Are
  • Deep knowledge with at least one modern frontend framework and associated ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of API development, and modern software architecture
  • Understanding of test driven development and modern UI testing frameworks.
  • Experience with agile software development and project management (We use Jira for issue tracking, and project management. GitHub for source control)
  • Strong written communication for documentation for both code and project documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and develop novel solutions to problems drawing from a variety of resources.
  • “Big picture” thinking skills to identify solutions that may be different than what is asked for by users but provide an even better value to the company.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

What Experience/Skills You’ll Need
  • 5+ years of full-stack software development experience in a modern environment
  • 2+ years of development experience using a modern frontend framework such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.
  • Experience leading a software development team is strongly preferred
