Network Engineer

Position: Network EngineerJob location (City, State) -Seattle, WA(Onsite)Long-Term Contract/CTHJob Description:Job Responsibilities With minimal supervision, performs complex network analysis, problem solving, implementation, and documentation. Translates IT strategies into tactical initiatives. May lead small to medium-sized projects.- Monitors and troubleshoots network issues- Configures and operates layer 2 switches and layer 3 routers- Troubleshoots, configures, and operates network layer devices- Develops, implements and optimizes basic network solution designs- Working-level knowledge of intelligent network design concepts and principles- Partners with, and supports, the business to maintain optimal services- Has advanced knowledge of configuration/operation in one or more area of network services:- Route (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPSEC / DMVPN, QoS, VRF)- Switch (dot1x authentication, dot1q trunking, LaCP / PaGP port-channeling, QoS, VLANs)- F5 (APM, ASM, GTM, LTM)- Firewall- Wireless- AWS/Azure Cloud Operations- Certification a plus- Is capable of communicating to the business on design, operation, and issues within the networking realm- Racks, stacks, and cables hardware- Travels as necessary to co-located facilities for maintenance and installation- Participates in weekly on-call rotation Qualifications- Possesses significant technical knowledge and skills, with experience in multiple technology areas- Actively works to learn new skills in order to stay current with changing technologies and industry trends- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Skilled in communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences- Excellent collaboration skills in working together with others across all IT segments- Recognized as a trusted colleague within IT and actively developing connections with business and functional stakeholders- Acts on, and displays commitment to, self-development, and shares knowledge proactively with others- Proficient in exercising sound judgment in translating IT strategies into achievable IT initiatives- Learning and developing skills necessary to demonstrate WY Strategy competencies (see Weyerhaeuser Leadership Competencies)- Proficient in solving highly complex problems and technical issues- Proficient in performing highly complex analysis- Highly proficient in offering suggestions regarding improvements or enhancements to current tasks, assignments, and projects. Demonstrates ability to recommend improvements outside of current work scope- Skilled in working with high level of autonomy- Proficient at leading small to medium-sized projects- Proficient at conflict resolution, time management, process and data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, and risk management- Proficient understanding of ITSM.
