The qualified candidate will work alongside a team to support the Army Continuing Education Division (ACED) by developing and maintaining tools, developing standard operating procedures, and processing various recurring reports and tasks. This is a Remote / Work from Home position. Duties & Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain applications in Microsoft Access and Excel using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), scripting languages and other tools.
- Perform complex on-demand technical analyses using combinations of Access, Excel, macros and VBA.
- Create/execute Structured Query Language (SQL) queries to build reports in support of ACED automated systems.
- Support TAGD-ACED personnel in all aspects of computer and information technology fundamentals, with emphasis on Microsoft Office products.
- Transfer data files between systems as required (both recurring and on demand).
- Bachelors in Computer Science (or related) and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and zero (0) years or more experience; 4 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- User-level expertise with Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Expert-level fluency with programming in VBA for Access and Excel.
- Two or more years' experience developing applications in an "Agile" environment.
- Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance Required; an interim Secret is acceptable to start work. SAIC will assist with the processing of the interim secret security clearance for the qualified candidate.
- CompTIA Security + Certification is required prior to start date.
- Experience with Army Human Resources Command (HRC), particularly with Finance systems and with the Tuition and Credentialing Assistance programs.
- Experience with software regression testing and software quality assurance.
- Familiarity with writing scripts for file transfer programs, particularly for the WS FTP-Pro file transfer program.
- Ability to develop and debug batch programs for Microsoft Windows.
- Ability to define software functional requirements based on user interactions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows sufficient to help non-technical users accomplish configuration and operational tasks. (Equivalent to a "level 1" help desk knowledge.)
