- Support projects with software development tools and processes that expand the weapons production systems capability
- Assist in evaluating and implementing solutions to efficiently leverage software systems in the deployment of a modern digital manufacturing capability within the Laboratory’s plutonium operations and within the framework of the Weapons Production IT Roadmap
- Work independently and with other software developers on several diverse and complex IT-related projects
- Work closely with technical and functional staff to help ensure the manufacturing systems used are adequately maintained and supported
- Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation; postgraduate work may be expected
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and experience in architecting complex networking and computing solutions across multiple IT focus areas utilizing various technologies or methods
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and demonstrated application of current and future network, telecommunication, data management, security, hardware, software development and systems programming technologies (how they interoperate) and how to architect complex solutions
- Demonstrated ability to analyze system features and functionality, investigating software requirements, original programming, system testing and creating comprehensive software documentation
- Demonstrated ability to research and evaluate new or existing software features, emerging technologies and development tools and how to implement them
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work with software developers, technical application administrators and manufacturing system analysts, providing technical guidance where needed
- Experience working with confidential or proprietary information, classified documents or sensitive information
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and project management skills
- Background with Oracle database technology using SQL, PL/SQL. (Functional and technical knowledge with Oracle applications should include Oracle MRP and iBASEt Solumina MES)
- Familiarity with DOE/NNSA Laboratories research and development mission areas
- Active DOE Q clearance and HRP Certification
