Job Description: Senior Data EngineerEstablishes and implements data architecture strategy, resulting in enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.Job Responsibilities:• Reviews and evaluates current data architecture and tools.• Defines an architecture strategy which encompasses the requirements from the different domain areas of the group. The strategy consists of an end-state robust and expandable model, data mining techniques, big data, data streaming, Data Lake, Cloud, visualization tools, and online & batch data reporting streams.• Defines a convergence plan to the end-state with specific milestones, including workforce re-alignment if necessary.• Lead the plan execution, ensuring adherence to the strategic goals and to the firm's guidelines and controls.Required Skills:• Ability to define high-level data design/architecture including multi-tenant software as services (SaaS) data models.• Solid technical foundation required to implement the defined design/reference architecture.• Solid understanding of data life cycle with emphasis on data lineage• In-depth knowledge in data analytics, including hands-on experience in real-world implementations in one or more key technology areas (e.g. Oracle, Hadoop stack, NoSQL, MSSQL, Ab Initio, Tableau, Snowflake, databricks, Spark).• Experience in Capital Markets, Fixed Income, Equities, FX , etc., and their underlying financial instruments.• Strong understanding of front-to-back office trade processing flows (trading, settlement, market and credit risk, liquidity etc.).• Exceptional communication skills, ability to effectively communicate with techical and business stakeholdersEducation:• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.• 10+ years of hands-on experience is required.
