Job Details
  • Develop next-generation technologies and concepts using experience with textile fibers and fabrics to support a group of cross-functional engineers
  • Create high-level and/or detailed design specifications
  • Broad, cross-functional understanding of design and manufacturing concepts
Technical knit, woven, and nonwoven fabric construction Fiber and yarn production Textile wet processing (scouring, dyeing, printing, lamination, finishing) Textile testing methods Advanced e-textile integration methods
  • Create robust design solutions using CAD, analysis software, lab equipment, and production-grade machinery
  • Procure, assemble, and test advanced prototypes to inform design decisions, refinements, and to demonstrate performance
  • Support projects from lab prototypes, test, validation, debug, and documentation through to manufacturing prototype, pilot, and mass production builds
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary agile teams as SME in textiles
Act in the capacity of Owner/Scrum Master or Team Member in Agile Teams Technical liaison between product teams and manufacturing teams Support product owner in preparing materials for external communication
  • Acts as textile SME/liaison in external engagements
Provides guidance and recommendations on proposals submitted by the membership as they relate to process feasibility
  • Provides recommendations and guidance to member companies
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years experience in the Textile industry
  • Experience with CAD tools for textile design, with a strong foundation in textile engineering and working knowledge of e-textiles
  • Knowledge of fundamental textile design concepts including fiber specification and testing, fabric characterization, textile manufacturing processes
  • Hands-on experience with production-grade manufacturing equipment (weft knitting machines, embroidery, lamination, sewing machines, etc.) and common textile manufacturing processes
  • Maintain the ability to work in a high production environment
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
