Electrical Controls Engineer

Location: Des Plaines, IL Description: Our client is currently seeking a Electrical Controls Engineer in the Chicago suburbs and an industry leading food packaging company! We're looking for someone open to a heavy travel schedule of up to 80% travel to several company facilities to design new electrical controls for new machinery installations.This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Assisting in the creating of control designs
• Oversight of the installation of new machines
• Providing additional support if a machine goes down
• Compliance with safety SOP's and work instructions including LO/TO, machine guarding, SQF and PPE requirements.
• Perform startup and installation support on machinery upgrades
• Provide training to onsite electrical staff
• Coordinating cross-functionally with plant personnel and external partners

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Multiple openings - Recent grads and senior engineers welcome!
• PLC Design experience required
• Experience with HMI's, AC Drives, and Servo controls
• Design and Implementation of machine controls experience
• AutoCAD proficiency
