Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Risk Engineer Partner with the both the business and engineering organizations to assist them with information protection, cyber-security, and privacy related risks. This includes helping them navigate through the various risk and cyber security assessment processes, prioritization and establishment of plans to address findings, generating threat models, mitigating security vulnerabilities, hands-on coaching and treatment of risks in various stages of the development lifecycle. Specific accountabilities and skills include: Influence other teams, broader Engineering groups and DevOps Leaders in adopting Cloud technologies, processes, and security best practices Work with Risk Management and Compliance teams to assess risk and security controls to ensure target technology applications and services are hardened, secure and meet defined security standards Assist with the configuration of application security SAST and DAST tools, monitor output and assist developers with remediation of code vulnerabilities Drive improvements to processes and design enhancements introducing automation to continuously improve security practices Deep understanding of OWASP Top 10 and risk mitigation techniques Development background using technologies such as Node, Javascript and Java Ability to mentor, teach and assist others on secure coding best practices and secure coding libraries Experience with AWS with emphasis on security Experience in configuring and monitoring application security with Checkmarx and DivvyCloud Experience working with Agile Development Practices and secure software development lifecycleMust haves: The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, communication, organization, initiative and technical saavy with specific emphasis on DevOps and AppSec.EEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
