Currently - 100% Remote The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the day to day operations of the organization’s core voice and data networks, network technology evaluations, protocol analysis, configuration, research, complex trouble shooting and analysis, and special network projects. This senior resource will take an active role in capacity planning, network monitoring and technology mentoring. Position must be able to demonstrate a strong ability to multi-task in an environment of constantly changing priorities. As a member of the Network Infrastructure team, typical duties include:· Ensuring highly available movement of data through the networks that comprise the enterprise network infrastructure.· Designing, developing and implementing data and voice networks which serve the business needs of the enterprise.· Interfacing with client counterparts and network providers to establish the required connectivity to deliver client services.· Providing highly skilled technical assistance in network planning, engineering, and architecture.· Identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance.· Evaluating and identifying opportunities for network performance and functionality improvements.· Evaluating new products/technologies to determine impact on existing system configurations.· Providing integrated team support and maintenance of network hardware and software.· Providing guidance and direction to less experienced engineers.· Adhering to change control policies and procedures. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in related technical discipline and 10+ years of network engineering experience. Additional 4 years’ experience will be considered in lieu of degree. SECURITY CLEARANCE: All candidates for consideration must be eligible to obtain a US public trust clearance. REQUIRED SKILLS:· O&M experience with a multisite network· Active CCNP certification in routing and switching· In-depth knowledge of enterprise networking systems, concepts, applicable methodologies, tools, standards, procedures and policies· Proven proficiency in the use of network monitoring or other optimization tools such as HP NNMi, CiscoWorks, and protocol analyzer.· Working knowledge on Scrutinizer NetFlow, Bluecoat Proxy, Riverbed Optimizer, Juniper SA6500 VPN Appliance· Expertise in many of the following protocols and technologies: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VOIP, STP, RSTP, 802.1d, 802.1x, 802.1q, DS1/3, 802.11a/b/g/n, SMTP, SNMP, Infoblox· Hands-on experience with Cisco hardware (routers, catalyst switches and Nexus platform), IOS and NXOS· The candidate will also require excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines and a broad spectrum of people-Cisco VOIP PREFERRED SKILLS:· Knowledgeable in technologies such as load balancer, NAC, IDS/IPS and network modeling· Experience with Microsoft Visio and ticketing systems· Security certification is a major plus.
