Auto Technician - Mechanic

We are a small, full-service automotive repair shop in the foothills (near Georgetown) We are looking for an automotive technician/mechanic. This is a full-time position. We are open Monday - Friday from 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Compensation will depend on experience. We work on all makes and models of vehicles.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify and diagnose mechanical problems on a wide range of vehicle models and manufacturers.

Perform various mechanical repairs.

Perform preventative maintenance tasks.

Must take direction from Service Advisor and Shop Foreman.

DUTIES MAY CONSIST OF:

Engine oil change services and preventive maintenance tasks

Parts driver

Shop clean up and organization

Customer shuttle

Technician assistant

Engine repair/replacement, transmission replacement, drive belt/timing belt replacement, brakes, A/C diagnostic and repair, steering, suspension work, etc

Duties listed above are not inclusive of any other duties that may be deemed necessary as part of the business needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 18 years old, preferred age of 21 due to insurance requirements

Basic computer (Windows system) and deductive reasoning skills

Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed

MUST maintain a valid CA driver's license with a good driving history. We will pull your motor vehicle report (MVR) BEFORE you start working. Your MVR MUST BE CLEAN

Must be able to drive a variety of vehicles including manual transmissions.

Must be clean, presentable, and pay attention to detail.

Must be a good fit for our shop.

Must have a positive attitude and be able to have FUN while at work!

PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

Knowledge of "All Data Repair" and “Shop Key” is a plus, but not required.

Your own tools is a plus, but not required.

ASE Certification achievement is desirable, but not required.

Knowledge of the Zeus Scanner and/or Ethos Edge Scanner is a plus, but not required.

Knowledge of Diesel engines is desirable, but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to Stand, Walk, Bend, Reach, Sit/Stand for 8 hours.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
