Global Mobility Specialist - RemoteJob ID21392Posted13-Jul-2021Service lineAdvisory SegmentRole typeFull-timeAreas of InterestPeople / Human ResourcesLocation(s)Dallas - Texas - United States of America, Remote - US - Remote - US - United States of AmericaJOB SUMMARYUnder general direction, the Global Mobility Specialist is responsible for providing analysis, reporting and operational support for CBRE's global mobility programs.The Global Mobility Specialist serves as a central point of contact and manages information among various stakeholders (e.g. managers, employees, general counsel, etc.) of active and potential immigration cases/relocation assignments in support of aligning CBRE's mobility strategies to business plans and talent management.Individuals in this role have a solid understanding of immigration, domestic and international relocation, compensation and payroll issues/processes.This role will work closely with the Global Mobility Program Manager, cross-functional teams and general counsel (internal & external) to facilitate domestic relocation, transfers and international assignments while continually improving the assignment experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupports Global Mobility Program Manager and Total Rewards Leadership in managing Global Mobility caseload including domestic & international relocation cases and works on immigration matters as assigned.For assigned cases, must ensure a positive employee experience while monitoring compliance, cost mitigation, equity and policy adherence. Escalates raised or identified issues and provides suggestions when the process takes an unexpected turn.Serves as primary back-up to the Global Mobility Program Manager.Monitors progress for assigned cases and communicates risk to timelines to involved parties. Responsible for communicating across involved parties as a key conduit in managing timelines and status of cases through its lifecycle, including but not limited to: planning, pre-assignment, during assignment and end of assignment with extensions/repatriation or localization and the applicable process nuances.Serving as the point of contact in relaying information across various stakeholders for employees going through various stages of the relocation and/or immigration process (e.g. status of approvals, offer or transfer letters, pre-decision tax services, preparing cost projections, processing information in Peoplesoft, work authorizations, relaying work visa requirements, etc.).Gathers and completes required information and applications for processing and completing the execution of mobility movements (e.g. new visas, change of status, amendment, extensions, business travel, permanent residency). Must also provide end-to-end updates and monitors cases to involved or responsible parties to ensure timely movement on necessary activities that facilitate Global Mobility assignments.Supports the Global Mobility Program Manager in producing and processing cost estimates, expenses, relocation reimbursements, allowances, and invoices (example: assisting the employee in transportation of household goods, and tax preparation). Prepares reports to support the administration of Global Mobility Programs.Manages transactions in PeopleSoft for Global Mobility cases. Assists in maintaining process workflows, compiling program metrics, helping with business travel support and reviewing invoices in partnership with cross-functional partners, vendors and legal operations for mobility-related services.Executes on tasks related to internal and external audits associated with the talent mobility program. Prepares data and reports to support the administration of the mobility programs, ensuring that data is accurately maintained and that the organization's immigration compliance records have an appropriate level of data security.Designs and maintains process documentation for the global mobility programs and immigration resources (e.g. FAQs, intranet content, templates, communications) to promote manager/employee education and self-service.Ensures that broader People team-related documentation is updated to reflect up-to-date global mobility program information.Responsible for staying current with laws, regulations and procedures that directly impact domestic and international mobility.Relays and coordinates to management and cross-functional partners to ensures updates/changes to law are incorporated into CBRE's immigration compliance initiatives, projects, and reporting requirements.May support on tasks as assigned for broader team initiatives, global projects, development of processes, procedures and job tools.Performs additional tasks as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline is preferred ( equivalent work experience = 2 years’ experience for every year of higher-level education).Must have 2 to 4 years of experience working in International Mobility and/or Business Immigration is required, preferably within a multinational organization. Large multinational organization experience is preferred.Minimum of 2+ years of international and/or domestic relocation experience preferred.Understanding of non-immigrant visa classifications, including H-1B, F-1, TN, L-1. Knowledge of immigrant visa process, including PERM, and I-140 is required.Experience identifying and resolving complex immigration issues and can independently navigate unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances with a solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment.CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSESHuman Resources and/or Relocation certifications such as Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) or Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designations a plus.COMMUNICATION SKILLSExcellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Must be able to convey difficult messages in a clear and concise manner and deftly handle sensitive matters.Has cross-cultural sensitivity and is accustomed to working in a global team across time zones.Internal Consultant – the ability to educate and guide the organization regarding the various compliance risks and talent mobility objectives.Executes duties with diplomacy in problem resolution, interpersonal skills and finding creative solutions to unique mobility challenges while staying within policy and cost parameters will be more critical than ever before.FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGERequires intermediate to advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages. Conducts intermediate to advanced financial analysis.Strong financial aptitude desired. The ability to explain the impact of currency fluctuations, balance sheet philosophy, allowance calculations and tax equalization policy, as well as be conversant in terms of program cost and valueREASONING ABILITYAbility to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIESAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office suite applications and experience with utilizing technology systems that maintain demographic and financial payroll compensation data is essential for this role.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex immigration matters across different audiences and varying levels of the organization up to C-suite level.Highly organized, detail-oriented and proactive with exceptional organizational skills; must be able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.Ability to work effectively in a multi-national, global team environment and deliver on high-quality customer service to demanding clientele in a fast-paced environment.Having a solid work ethic and self-starter attitude is essential for this role.Will need to demonstrate understanding of the end-to-end relocation and transition process for domestic and international assignees.Strong knowledge of international cost of living allowances and best practices.Customer service skills are an essential part of the job. Must be able to react to clients’ questions with patience, discretion, and understanding.Flexibility to multi-task on day-to-day responsibilities and projects simultaneously.Solid business acumen for understanding the critical nature of sourcing the necessary talent needed to support the various business units.Vendor management skills experience, working with outside vendors to effectively manage the services and costs of the mobility supply chain.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITYDecisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to coworkers and supervisor.Colorado Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Global Mobility Specialist position is $75,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Global Mobility Specialist is $95,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
